We have been asked a number of times for a small lock pick set for users to ‘try your hand at it’ before committing to buying a larger kit

Here is the Bare Bones solution:

23thou Half Diamond – can be used to zip, rake and single pin pick. The narrow stem makes this pick easy to navigate around common lock warding. Can be used as a poor man’s dimple flag or converted to a short hook with a file/sandpaper if a new profile is needed (video and pdf instructions to follow). Its therefore a good ‘Neophyte’ profile in our opinion.

23thou Snake Rake – multiple profile rakes (double, triple, etc) are useful but tend to get caught in the warding easier than a single rake profile. Although one of the simplest rake profiles, a Snake rake is often voted one of most useful . Its therefore a good ‘Neophyte’ profile in our opinion.

40thou TOK wrench – Picking Top Of the Keyway (TOK) is a very common approach when Single Pin Picking (SPP). It would make sense that a new kit should therefore include one to try out. This 40thou was chosen as the most common thickness. If you are a new picker and a 40thou TOK is too big to fit a lock, then its likely that lock will be too restricted or tight for learning. Its therefore a good ‘Neophyte’ tension wrench in our opinion.

Half Twist Wiper – Picking Bottom Of the Keyway (BOK) is common when raking. New pickers tend to be too heavy in tension so a half twist was selected. Its design reduces transferring tension at the expense of feedback. Its therefore a good ‘Neophyte’ tension wrench in our opinion.

Silicone holder – give your tools a home and prevent loosing them. This silicone ‘sock’ has an adhesive backing so you can attach and use it as a simple stand. Its not suitable to be used as a case but feel its important to include some sort of container with any kit we sell
