A 140mm hollow handle that does two jobs at once: it grips a pick via three M4 grub screws, spaced closer together than our Femur handle to suit half-length picks (the kind used in jackknife or folding pick sets), and its hollow body doubles as a slim internal carry tube for extra tools.

For a short promotional period, the Bone ‘Marrow’ Handle is available as a set, including 301 full hard (FH) stainless steel, in either 20thou (4 hooks and 4 jackknife rakes) or 25thou (8 x sinusoidal rakes). Both options include a 2mm hex wrench and a 40thou TOK, all designed to fit and store inside the handle itself.

Size and Comfort

Dimensions: approximately 140mm x 18mm x 20mm. The larger size handle is built for long, comfortable picking sessions, without the fatigue of a smaller grip.

What Makes This Different From the Femur Handle

The Femur is a solid grip for a single bare pick. The ‘Marrow’ is longer, hollow, and built to carry more than just the one pick it’s holding. Load a spare tension tool, extra picks, or a hex key into the hollow body, whatever fits, and carry it inside the handle itself.

How It Loads

The end cap screws onto the handle to seal everything inside. A small cutout at the cap’s attaching end lets a longer tool, like the hex key, poke through and protrude slightly, so it doesn’t need to fit entirely within the handle’s length. Screw the cap down and everything inside is held firmly in place.

Direct Feedback, Even Though It’s Hollow

A cutout recess near the grub screws gives your finger or thumb direct contact with the grub screw, so you still feel genuine feedback straight from the pick, not dulled by the hollow handle body. The opening measures approximately 1.5mm x 9.5mm, wide enough to suit the majority of pick shaft profiles.

What You Can Fit Inside

Mix and match tension tools and picks however suits you, more tension and fewer picks, or the reverse. As a real example of capacity: 8 x 20thou jackknife picks (approx. 60mm x 8mm each), or 5-6 x 25thou jackknife picks (25thou is wider, so fewer fit at once), plus 1 x full size TOK tension tool and a 2mm hex wrench, all inside the handle simultaneously.

Note: the 25thou promotional set includes a full 8 sinusoidal rakes, but only 5-6 will fit inside the handle at the same time. The remainder can be carried separately, or swapped in and out as needed.

Attachment

Secures with three M4 grub screws. The closer screw spacing is designed for half length picks, so if you’re running full length picks, note that the grip point sits differently than on the Femur handle.
